The photo exhibition “Jeanloup Sieff Unseen & Best Works” is offering Japanese fans new discoveries in his unseen photographic works and the true value of gelatin-silver prints. Fashion photographs in the early 1960s are main part of this exhibition both in quality and in quantity. Jeanloup was most active and energetic during this period and he worked a lot for magazines such as Herper's Bazaar, Glamour, Vogue, etc. “Why didn't he publish these works before?”, “Was he going to publish a book some day?” Jeanloup's wife, Barbara took a leading part and the review of unpublished works was started. It has been ten years since he has passed away. “How deep can we get into the author's field?” The review works must have been hard and maybe painful. However, on the other hand it is imagined how fascinate to have chance to take a look at unseen contact sheets. He is generally represented by fashion and nude photographs. But it is realized he displays his ability in reportage, landscapes, urbanscapes, portraits, etc., too. Total 180 black and white prints displayed at once are just impressive, and succeed to create the world of ‘In Search of Lost Time’ that is nostalgic emotion Jeanloup kept having all his life.
