‘The Samurai & I - Early Portrait Photographs’ exhibition will feature works from the collection of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, showing the rich world of portraiture that existed in both Japan and the West during the early days of photography. It will present original early photographs from Japan, the West and combinations of the two, focusing on the motif of ‘single body images’ . The theme of portraiture will continue with the ‘Nude’ exhibition from July 31 (Sat.) and the ‘20th Century’ exhibition from October 9 (Sat.).
