Movie Trailer
"To live for others — that is what it means to be human."
A moving film based on the true story of Miki Hanada, a legendary nurse from Aomori, Japan
— a woman who dedicated her life to public health and nursing, no matter the cost.
The film brings to life the turbulent yet passionate journey of Hanada, who fearlessly fought
for the dignity of human life in the face of war, illness, and isolation.
Through her story, we are reminded of the roots of caregiving and what it truly means to live in this era.
The lead role is powerfully portrayed by Hana Kino, a proud daughter of Aomori, whose recent appearance in the NHK drama series Boogie Woogie left a lasting impression. Popular TV personality Ourin, also from Aomori, gives a heartfelt performance as a single mother who forms a deep connection with Hanada. Rising stage star Kayo Ise shines as the young Miki, portraying her determination and quiet strength with grace. Directed by master filmmaker Takumi Igarashi — known for his works depicting real-life figures — this film is a deeply emotional tale of compassion, resilience, and the invisible threads that bind us.

Synopsis
Chisato (Ourin) is a single mother struggling to raise her son, Riku, while working at a local supermarket.
One day, she encounters Miki Hanada (Hana Kino), an elderly woman known in the neighborhood for being cold and distant.
But as Chisato and her son spend more time with her, Hanada begins to open up. Revealing her past as a dedicated nurse,
Hanada recounts her memories — from her early days during wartime, to treating a devastating polio outbreak at the Hachinohe Red Cross Hospital. As she speaks, her younger self (Kayo Ise) comes to life — a woman of quiet courage, driven by an unwavering commitment to care. Touched by Hanada's story, and remembering her own late mother who was also a nurse, Chisato finds herself growing closer to Hanada... until an unexpected truth is revealed.
