"Focus on Asia"

In June 2012, the 14th Shor t Shor ts Fi lm Fest ival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA), an Academy Award® accredited film festival, screened carefully selected 79 short films out 4,543 entries submitted from around the wor ld. For the annual fal l screening, the excel lent Asian/Japanese short films from SSFF & ASIA 2012 selections, including the Grand Prix winning short Mo ikkai by Atsuko Hirayanagi, will be shown again along with special screenings of the world renown filmmakers' shorts.


Work Shop

Workshop by Hitoshi One, the director of "Love Strikes!" (Moteki)

Every end of October, SSFF & ASIA organizes a screening event of short films dedicated to 'Asia and Japan,' at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography (@ Yebisu Garden Place). This year, the screenings will be held from October 25th to the 28th in collaboration with Tokyo International Film Festival.
On October 28th, the film director Hitoshi Oneda, who's famous for "Love Strikes!"(starring Mirai Moriyama) that received several awards at 35th Japan Academy Awards, will lecture about the secret of hit film and some production techniques.

Lecturer: Hitoshi One

Born in 1968, Tokyo. He has directed several TV dramas and PVs. He has shown histalent especially in midnight drama, such as "Moteki", "Yukemuri Sniper" and received high reputation from and outside the industry.Besides the direction, he is also active as theater writer, radio commentator, column writer and lecturer. In 2011, he directed Love Strikes! (Moteki) as his feature debut. He wrote and directed a play, "Hedwig and the Angry Inch", which was presented in 2012. His new TV drama "Mahoro ekimae bangaichi" will be broadcast on TV in 2013.
