■Story

On August 6, 1945, nineteen-year-old Shinji Mikamo is helping his father on their rooftop in Hiroshima when a blinding flash changes his life forever.
Severely injured in the atomic bombing that destroyed his home and killed over 140,000 civilians, Shinji is rescued by his father. Amidst the devastation, their journey of survival unfolds — shaped by agony, love, loss, and ultimately, forgiveness. Told through
the eyes of Dr. Akiko Mikamo, Shinji’s daughter and the film’s executive producer, 8:15 brings to life a deeply personal account of resilience and hope.
As we approach the 80th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, this powerful documentary reminds us of the enduring strength of the human spirit and the urgent need for peace in today’s world.
