NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, has produced great achievements in space development and astronomical observation during the 60-plus years since its founding.
This exhibition features beautiful and astonishing astrophotography selections captured by observation satellites, planetary probes, space telescopes, and so on, with a special focus on NASA images.
Experience the breathtaking appearance of the solar system, the nebulas and star clusters of the Milky Way, and the countless galaxies and galactic clusters beyond through large, high-quality silver halide photographic prints.
There will also be a smaller exhibit with beautiful images that show off some of the observation results obtained by the Subaru Telescope, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), and other large telescopes associated with the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan.
2020 is a memorable year in space science, marking the 30th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope(HST), which is featured in this exhibition, as well as the 15th anniversary of the launch of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter(MRO).
This exhibit offers a variety of fascinating images that are science yet resemble art. We invite you to experience the wonders of science and technology development and the insight of the people who are unlocking the puzzles and mysteries of space.
