Body Paint (series)

This extended video work started from the question, "What does body painting mean in this age where we always carry smartphones around with us and have acquired a body that is constantly connected to the Internet?" and was inspired by the answer, "We need to paint our information devices as well." First, a person is videoed in a painted state, and then the rest of the monitor showing the image is painted in the same color to complete the body painting. This piece, which was created based on such a concept, produced a strange visual effect that was initially not expected. It was indistinguishable from both video and painting when actually seen. It was first exhibited as part of an installation at the Nara Prefectural Museum of Art's "The Great Kojiki Exhibition," but was later developed as a stand-alone piece.
