A network performance piece that hijacks the Whitney Museum of American Art's website at sunrise and sunset, NY time. The work was commissioned for the museum's artport project Sunrize/Sunset. When accessing the museum's website at sunrise and sunset, the entire website begins to zoom out, and a laptop or smartphone framework similar to the environment of the user browsing the website appears outside of it. A time-lapse video of the sunrise and sunset with Manhattan in the distance is played in the background. After about 30 seconds, the screen zooms in again and returns to the original web browsing screen. The aim is to seamlessly connect and compare the sunrise and sunset — the most dramatic and continuous changes in the environment among natural phenomena — with the digital world, based on the discontinuity of everything being 0 and 1. exonemo shot the time-lapse video from the New Jersey side (sunrise) and the Brooklyn side (sunset).
